Halfords Charity Cycle Ride 2012- My Contribution

Morning All.


Just a quick blog on my contribution to the 2012 Halfords Charity Cycle Ride. This is a Halfords Stores, Autocentres and Head Office team effort to , raising money for Cancer Research UK.

The relay will start on Sunday 20th May through to Friday 6th July. From Camborne, Cornwall to Inverness, Scotland, where people are participating in one of 48 cycle rides taking place.

My Colleague and fellow manager Graham is doing the Dumfries to Ayr (67 Miles) leg on June 26th and myself and a couple of other colleagues are doing Ayr to Hamilton on June 27th.. Should be a fun day….

Its not an uncommon fact that the weather recently has been very poor, a mixture of rain, hail, snow, gale force winds and everything else being chucked at my part of the world. .. so it was a very pleasant change to wake to nice sunny weather - and I thought Im grabbing my bike and going a run for what seems like the first time in weeks. - on a Day Off. Done the usual route home-Kilmarnock, join the cycle path to Irvine, then down to Ayr via Troon. Then back up the B743 to Mauchline. 44 Miles and a very good cycle.  Planning more on Sat, Hopefully a 60 Miler. - Weather looks ok..
