Insomnia- Pain in the Ass!

Really getting sick of this. Last night it must have been 3am before I fell asleep. Today after a hard day at work, I got in about half 8 and had some dinner. Watched a big of telly. Time was approaching 10pm so thought, as I was starting to doze off on the couch, I would go to bed, confident I would get a good 8 hrs. I woke at 158am. It's now 354am and I still can't get back to sleep. I've not drank any coffee. Last cup was at 830pm. Getting sick of this crap sleeping cycle. I am up at 7am, for a busy Sat in work and know that I will be very tired and no doubt will want to sleep early evening sat. Then the cycle will start again. Fuckin pish. 2 word summary. Grr

Happy 1st month Birthday iphone4

Well the Iphone4 is a month old today. Ots been a rocky 1 for sone but as a user from day 1, and queuing outside the 02 shop since 530am, I've never had a prob or an issue with it. So great stuff and cont the good work apple. Who know what's coming.

Early Morning

Went to bed early and woke up before 4am. Could not get back to sleep. Getting daylight. Place very calming. Silence fills the air. Looking out back window, I can see birds attempting to get food in the grass. Kettles on. Coffee. TV. On. Looks like that's me for the day.

2010 Hol.. Mon 2/8/10

Follow on from yesterday... Holiday now booked for next week. This is a test as never stayed in a caravan for a week. Going to Haven Blue Dolphin in Yorkshire, near Scarborough. Looking forward to it, kids will have a ball. Place is near Filey.. http://www.haven.com/parks/yorkshire_lincolnshire/blue_dolphin/index.aspx Place has a lot to do around it, so looking forward to spending time with family and seeing kids happy. Good thing is might add a day or so onto end of hol via a travel lodge should we venture to Alton Towers or something.....

Holiday 2010

Finally after 3 nights, we have agreed and booked a short 1 week break near Scarborough.. Should be good, not to long a journey from home and there appears to be plenty to do... More Follows...

What happened to the Summer?

What happened to the Great Summer we were going to have?- Thats the 2nd year in a row where quite frankly the Summer has been pants... Think as a society we have created a vision or expectation that Scotland or 'Up North' can have great summers. The reality is very much different...

Last minute holiday plans not looking good...

For last 2 nights we have been trying to book a hol but can't agree on where to go and it's getting to a point of irritation. Having checked up the finances, I've came to the conclusion that we can't afford to go abroad for a week. I've been looking at Haven holiday parks for a weeks hol around east coast, Yorkshire etc. But someone keeps thinking yes we can afford to go abroad. A week the now we will be off work for 2 weeks and have found us in a position we really have never been in. This is our only chance to do something as a family as I work 3/4 weekends. The next few days will be interesting to see what compromise is made. All I know is we ain't going abroad ....

Set Up and ready to go.

Ok. That's my own personal blah set up an ready to go.

An Introduction..

I've decided to come back to wordpress and start something quite unique for me and that is my own blog. I at times think aloud and I have always wanted to note this down and read back and in recent weeks have found that the family blog at clanham.info was becoming more my stomping ground for my own rants, groans and moans which really should not be the case. That is my family blog and will continue to be. So this journey is going to be a what really amounts to a test. I find myself more recently deep in thought of what I am doing, where I am going and in what direction I want to take my life, my family and this may be a good place to air these thoughts and hopefully give me some method of putting clarity to my thoughts. So I hope as I write, what I blah here will make sense and hope it may be of interest to some people. Alex. July 26th 2010.

>BBQ with the Corbetts

>Had a most enjoyable evening. Left Mauchline at 6pm and it was pissing from the heavens. Our destination- Clarkston. And a BBQ/drinks/chat with our friends the Corbetts and the Gordons. Weather has been funny. By time we picked the G's up, it was dry. Not a spot of rain. Headed round for 7 pm and started our evening. Because of weather we did not think they would have had BBQ, but we sat outside for a good hr and a half and enjoyed some good food. Next time I am doing a BBQ - bacon for the burgers a must ! And baked tatties done in oven. Followed inside by some lively chat and fun on quiz games. Just home. Well staying at friends. Home sun pm. Good end to a good night. .... - Random tales using BlogPress from my iPhone

>Raymond Miller

>Went down to local last night for a few beers with some of the boys and ended up chatting to a guy who went to school with my old man. As a group we had a bit of banter for a good hour and it was cool listening to his stories about his youth and what he got up to in the late 60s. And early 70s. He even told me he used to go ice skating with my dad and his sister, my aunt Margaret. Highlight was a story of when he was somewhere near Mauchline, entertaining 'cough' a young lady in a car. Lights off - and a torch flashed up at the car. - it was my Dad out on the beat. Lol. Brought a chuckle to my face and ended a good night on a high. - Random tales using BlogPress from my iPhone Location: Welton Rd,Mauchline,United Kingdom

>Weekend Off!

>I am so looking forward to this weekend off, as it seems like an absolute age since my last 1 off.. Getting used to these weekend working as imposed upon by my employers is becoming harder than I thought. I don't know how some folk do this all the time. Maybe I've found it a bit harder as I am quite a sociable bloke.. God the number of times Ive said I cant go ... lol is heart breaking- Although maybe its as a good thing some people might say. Ive worked in retail for nearly 20 years and have always worked weekends- but the big difference it was always on my own terms. This being dictated to when my day off is can be a pain but in general has worked out OK.. What generally used to happen was if in the sat was off the sun and vice-versa. Prob worked every 3rd full weekend.. Any way - No point in growling about it.. ATM. 1 distinct advantage is the less required baby sitting during the week, and in 4 weeks time, Euan starts primary so it is going to be strange having a day(s)...

>Englands FA announce new Sponsorship deal.

Image
> Football Association today proudly unveiled Total, fcuk and UPS as the new sponsors of the England football team. ‘The combination of these three corporate giants perfectly captures the ethos of the England side,’ said an FA spokesman. The new shirts come in a range of bright ‘easy to spot’ colours after claims from England players that the old kit was painted in ‘magic invisible ink’ which made it impossible to pick out an easy and obvious pass to a team mate. The new shirts are also made of a super lightweight material, unlike the old tops which were apparently made of extra-heavy chain mail which left the Premiership stars lumbering around looking exhausted and unfit. However, one criticism has been made of the design of the new England kit with claims that the neck hole was inexplicably too small for the heads of the Premiership stars. Players say this will make it very hard to pull the shirt off during an over-exuberant goal celebration, but a spokesman for the manufacturers ...
