The Scotland Run- Day 3
So when we arrived in Fort William, we were staying at the Youth Hostel at Glen Nevis. That night I got absolutely no sleep. A big group of Swedish students left at 4am then someone was snoring so I awoke before 7am exhausted. We gathered our stuff and cycled out to have breakfast at McD's before the 104+ Mile run to Glasgow.

Back in November we did this on my birthday of all days, so we knew what to expect. There was to be a slightly longer quicker and different route. More on that in a minute. -
We headed off, down towards Corran Ferry, the weather was cold but dry. Then onward down into Glencoe. This is my favourite place in Scotland, stunning scenery and a great atmosphere. It was bitterly cold, and with a strong head wind, much effort was required to batter on. We stopped at the top for 5 mins, for some photos and take in the views...
Onwards and downward, still +25 Miles to Crianlarich where we were going to stop for lunch. Just approaching, Ill be honest I wanted to give up and contemplated jumping on the train back to Glasgow, but after a hearty lunch and a heat up I got a second wind..
As you come out of Crianlarich, there is a fantastic downhill run that must go on for at least 3 miles. - What a freewheel.... In no time we were at the north end of Loch Lomond, time was approaching 5pm, and the sun came out. So the jacket was off, glasses were on a very nice run down to Balloch..
Last time we did this run by 5pm it was pitch dark (was nov 2012), so this time for quickness we took the A82 dual carriageway through Dumbarton, past Erskine Bridge and continued onto Great Western Road. - now approach +90 Miles we still had a 15 mile run right into Glasgow City Centre, and the Travel lodge... Again I seemed to gain power in my legs and enjoyed a pleasant run....

We got to our hotel around 8pm, quick change went for 1 beer then grabbed a pizza on the way back to toast the longest run so far. - and contemplate a final day to the border the next day....
