A well, only 3 weeks till crimbo. Won't be long eh? - hope your all planning well, and sorting what you need to sort lol. Had Euan in my work today to ask me for Santa's email address. I said I had it in my iPhone and would email him to request the bike he wanted lol. So that's that done lol. Quite a bit happening. Maryann had her birthday on Thursday, then her Xmas night out on Friday. Mine is on Sunday night. 1st 1 with current work, heading to Ayr race course. Should be good. Off Mon obv. Managers prerogative lol. Taking my gran for a bit of lunch on Mon. Not seen her for ages, and being honest as this is busiest time of the year, work wise, may be only time I get to see her. Then Liverpool weekend next Sat. Should be good!! - Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone Location: Welton Rd,Mauchline,United Kingdom

First Snow Fall of Winter 2010

Well Scotland's had It's first snow fall of winter 2010/11 this week and as usual the reaction is that this country cant cope with the White stuff that comes every year. Last year was bad, one of the worst we have had for a good 20 years and if going by what the reports are in the press, or take what long range weather forecasts are saying this winter is going to be the same as last year. I say we need to get a grip and get on with it. Countries like Finland and Norway get it a lot worse than we do and it's a way of life for them. I can't understand how this country comes to a complete standstill at the first dump of 8 inches of snow. In Ayrshire this week we seem to have missed most of this first fall, infact we have had very little compared to North Lanarkshire. Any way Scotland and UK in true Hamilton style, I comment 'get a grip, and get oan with it' lol.... - Posted using BlogPress from my iPad Location: Welton Rd,Mauchline,United Kingdom

Late Nov Update.

Well that's another week I've been struck down by a long and severe cold. Grr. Seem to catch these things a lot easier these days. What's been happening last couple weeks? - week past sat we were out in Glasgow for a rare overnight stay and met friends for dinner and drinks. Great night, rolling in after 4am lol. Then it was back to work for the usual 1 day off in 9 after the weekend off. Been busy with the early offers for Christmas. Last weekend we got the boys presents sorted so at least there is something organised for Chrimbo. Maryann's birthday next. Sat going out for dinner, then weekend in Liverpool on Dec 11th. Should be a hoot. - Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone Location: Welton Rd,Mauchline,United Kingdom

Birthday Boy…

Image
Well November 11th has came and nearly went for another year and the hair on this fine head is a bit less and greyer’ if there is such a word. Last month I pumped in a few days holiday to co-inside with my weekend off for November so the joy is that I’m off for 4 days without eating up to much annual leave. So today was actually the first birthday I’ve had off for the last couple of years. Shame was everyone else was working but I awoke this morning to the kids bringing me some pressies and I was up quite sharp to take the boys to school.. The weather recently has been awful and frankly I have been searching for a new jacket for weeks, so today I thought, need to get this sorted. So off to the town I went, and spent most of the morning in Ayr. So my birh’day’ has been like any other day. Tonight, Maryann brought us a choc cake in, to a rendition of ‘happy birthday’ from the Boys. This weekend we are heading up to Glasgow, around lunch time for an afternoon around the shops, ...

>Andrew’s Birthday Weekend..

Image
> This weekend we celebrate Andrew’s 9th birthday. Oct 24th 2001 now seems so long ago and kind of tells me that time in no way stays constant lol. It feels to me, in recent times, that days, weeks, months and even years are passing at an alarmingly fast rate, and I cant quite believe that Andrew is nearly into his 2nd decade. That alone, next year will be a special birthday. Andrew is clearly growing up fast. Now in p5, Andrew is very tall for his age, obviously takes that from me, and is 1 of the tallest in his class. We have came along way from the wee bundle who was born on that day in 2001, weighing 4lbs 10oz, some 7 weeks early. As someone who has always ejoyed taking photos, and with the advent of digital media and online storage (Flickr), we have a wealth of photos (thousands in fact lol), that we will be able to treasure for years to come… The wee boy is quickly growing into a young man and his wee brother, Euan is not long behind him. Andrew can be loud, childish at times,...

Bug can bugger aff! Lol

Last few days have not been the most pleasant. I was off Wednesday and Thursday and on wed night decided to meet Alan for a couple beers, chat and watch the Celtic game. By no means was it a heavy evening. But at 3am, I suddenly woke up and was violently sick, then the flood gates opened. I was like than for approximate 30 hrs and was floored all of Thursday. Apart from a visit to the dentist I was in bed and struggled to go to work today. A couple of other guys have been off so clearly a bug has been doing the rounds. It's rare for me to be Ill, in fact I cant remember the last time I was. But at least now I'm starting to feel better. Tonight I've spent most of the evening back in bed. Maryann took the kids to the Nunn's Halloween party. I was sorry to have missed it, but obviously it was best to stay away. - Posted using BlogPress from my iPad Location: Welton Rd,Mauchline,United Kingdom

Update..

Been a while since I updated this. Last few weeks have been pretty manic especially at work as we settle into the pre christmas set up. Euan and Andrew have just broke up for the October holidays, I mean they get nearly 2 weeks. They are just back! Lol Both are doing well at school. Andrew is in p5 and his teacher says he has a natural flair for maths. And can be very loud. That I do believe. Euan is in p1, and his teacher said he is a 'gentleman'. Brill!! Also over last couple of weeks, I have caught up with friends whom I've not seen for a while. Always great to catch up. Also looking forward to the Gordons dinner party on Sat night. Just happens to be my weekend off. Lol - also got Doc Who live. Should be a hoot!

Dreaded Insomnia Circle!!

Image
Looks like the insomnia is back. Monday night I could not fall asleep for some mad reason. I was up very early Monday, after returning from Dumfries's stocktake at 11pm. I left there at 945pm and took about an hr to travel the 50 miles back up the road. Anyway- was back up at 545am Mon, then was in work till back of 4pm. Had an hrs sleep and that's when the problems started. I saw 345am on the clock come tues morning. - no reason why. Or unknown to me. I found myself on twitter talking away to various peeps which was fun, as always, up and down to the fridge for a midnight snack , haha and even found myself staring out the bedroom window, deep in thought. - really utter nonsense. I was back up to take kids to school on 4 hrs sleep and naturally was completely Knackered. Then had a full day at work. The crap weather meant we were very quiet and as such today was the longest of long days - agggggrrr. After getting home, I was in bed after half an hr lol. I've just had 5 hrs ...

>Ayr Races 2010

>Had a great weekend. Naturally as they are a rare thing when off. Went out on the bike for a bit yesterday morning. Then got back and got ready for our 1st ever day at the races. Barry and Hazel picked us up at 12 noon and we were in the club area holding a beer by half past lol. Our first 2 races went well and we were 20 quid up. Brill! Although the next 3 races went a bit downhill although we got 30 quid back lol. So we went to the champagne bar and thought – well why not? After the last race we went and saw the early evening entertainment. Brilliant. A madness tribute band who were bloody excellent. Then an abba band. Later that evening we went to Smiths and after dinner went for a few drinks in ayr. Got back home rather tired after midnight. Today we’ve recovered lol. Posted using BlogPress from my iPad

Iphone4 Sim probs

Image
Well, been a wee while since I updated this… Last Thurs. I required to change my mobile number and I have always had an old payg sim from o2, still active and I made what I thought was a simple call to o2 to change it over. Request was actioned and I was sending/receiving calls and texts within 2 hrs. Great I thought…. no problem..- aha how mistaken I was. Now I don't claim to be an expert, but I know my way around an IPhone and pc, but for some reason I was unable to log onto 3g/ mobile internet on the phone. So checked settings/ phoned o2/ talked me though.. easy fix's but nothing… This went on till Sunday. Took it into o2 store and they gave me a new sim. Done swap, waited 24hrs still no luck. 4 emails and ANOTHER visit to o2 store and ANOTHER sim swap…- Still nothing. Last resort was to call Apple. After an 18 min wait, caller talked me though possible issues. Aha – Internet Tethering was active on my phone…. now we were getting somewhere.. It appears that some do...

>Today was our 12th wedding anniversary. My god where has the time went. Last night we went for a nice meal at the Royal in Cumnock. My first ever visit. Was really nice and as the kind in laws paid for it, yours truly had a large sirloin as usual lol. Today has been a typical lazy Sunday. Watch crap Telly and catch up on the sky + rubbish from during the week. Also read the trashy Sunday newspapers. This was a good way to celebrate the anniversary. Showed that it's good to be normal. And do normal things. Anyway happy aniversary to us. Posted using BlogPress from my iPad. Location: Welton Rd,Mauchline,United Kingdom

IPad Review

Well that's me had the new toy for a week now and just a short blog to say I am well impressed. Many people have commented on the fact why have I bought it and well I am not surprised. These things are not the cheapest but as I have became a big apple fan in last year it was a natural progression to this. The iPad was born through the sale of some stuff on eBay and I received it last Tuesday. I like the fact of how portable it is. Highlights are watching BBC iplayer and the fantastic way of viewing photos on it. As I type this I can hear email arrive and am listening to the Dave Pearce pod cast from last week. The battery life is amazing. Up to 10 hours. I have not used the 3G yet. This will only happen as and when I am away anywhere.. Any way most impressive. I will not be letting this baby leave my side. Cheers, Alex. - Posted using BlogPress from my iPad. Location: Welton Rd,Mauchline,United Kingdom

> Had a great weeks holiday near Scarborough.. Stayed at the Blue Dolphin Haven park. Weather was good to us during our weeks stay. Journey down was a bad start as it took almost 7.5 hours as there was a 2.5hr jam on the A66 because of an accident. Got there and thought let the fun begin. Beautiful area with some stunning cliff top views. Trips during the week included Scarborough, Filey, York and of course Flamingo Land”!! In all we had a great time: Photos HERE
