Ayr Races 2010

Had a great weekend. Naturally as they are a rare thing when off. Went out on the bike for a bit yesterday morning. Then got back and got ready for our 1st ever day at the races.





Barry and Hazel picked us up at 12 noon and we were in the club area holding a beer by half past lol.

Our first 2 races went well and we were 20 quid up. Brill!




Although the next 3 races went a bit downhill although we got 30 quid back lol.

So we went to the champagne bar and thought – well why not?

After the last race we went and saw the early evening entertainment. Brilliant. A madness tribute band who were bloody excellent. Then an abba band.

Later that evening we went to Smiths and after dinner went for a few drinks in ayr.

Got back home rather tired after midnight.

Today we’ve recovered lol.

Its not an uncommon fact that the weather recently has been very poor, a mixture of rain, hail, snow, gale force winds and everything else being chucked at my part of the world. .. so it was a very pleasant change to wake to nice sunny weather - and I thought Im grabbing my bike and going a run for what seems like the first time in weeks. - on a Day Off. Done the usual route home-Kilmarnock, join the cycle path to Irvine, then down to Ayr via Troon. Then back up the B743 to Mauchline. 44 Miles and a very good cycle.  Planning more on Sat, Hopefully a 60 Miler. - Weather looks ok..
