Western Isles Epic - Travel

Arrived in Oban. Up at 430am. Cycled 32 miles in pissing rain to Queen St and met Neil. Then 0821 train. As we departed train in Oban the sun is kind of shinning.

Longing that this will continue. - quick bite to eat then it's Cal- Mac's 1340 sailing to Castlebay, Barra.

Its not an uncommon fact that the weather recently has been very poor, a mixture of rain, hail, snow, gale force winds and everything else being chucked at my part of the world. .. so it was a very pleasant change to wake to nice sunny weather - and I thought Im grabbing my bike and going a run for what seems like the first time in weeks. - on a Day Off. Done the usual route home-Kilmarnock, join the cycle path to Irvine, then down to Ayr via Troon. Then back up the B743 to Mauchline. 44 Miles and a very good cycle.  Planning more on Sat, Hopefully a 60 Miler. - Weather looks ok..
