Ayr Gold Cup - 2012

3rd year we have done this. And what a day. Arrived at 1235 and straight to the bar .. Sorry bookies.

1st race. 42 quid up. 2nd race. 100 up. 3rd 10 up. 4th lost 15 5th lost 20. - so overall we done well.

After the entertainment headed into Prestwick and to Elliott's for dinner.

Then back to Ayr for some good chat and even Club de Mar

Its not an uncommon fact that the weather recently has been very poor, a mixture of rain, hail, snow, gale force winds and everything else being chucked at my part of the world. .. so it was a very pleasant change to wake to nice sunny weather - and I thought Im grabbing my bike and going a run for what seems like the first time in weeks. - on a Day Off. Done the usual route home-Kilmarnock, join the cycle path to Irvine, then down to Ayr via Troon. Then back up the B743 to Mauchline. 44 Miles and a very good cycle.  Planning more on Sat, Hopefully a 60 Miler. - Weather looks ok..
