Trip to Auchrannie, Arran 25-27th February 2012

Image
Last weekend we went to Arran and enjoyed a couple of days near Brodick. This was a special treat also as we were helping Maryann's mum and dad, Jim and Mary McKellar celebrate their 40th wedding aniversary. We arrived after getting the 1230pm ferry from Ardrossan to Brodick, and MA drove car over to hotel. Took kids swimming. And enjoyed some general R&R. Dinner in the hotel on 2 nights. On the sun MA and her mum went for a spa treatment while I did the cycle. (see other blog post). All had a great time. - and of course happy ruby wedding to Jim and Mary.

Apple to unveil Ipad3 - March 7th 2012

Image
Apple just sent out invitations to an event next Wednesday to be held at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco. Besides the time and location information, the invite only says “We have something you really need to see. And touch.” The words are superimposed on what is almost certainly an iPad. It’s all but a done deal now: Apple will unveil the iPad 3 on March 7. The event is due to begin at 10 a.m. Pacific Time (1 p.m. ET).

Traveling by train on the 0428AM (YES very early) train from Central to London on the Thurs.... back on the Monday evening. Ive been to London at least... 10 times. First time was in 1986 with my Gran... Last visit was 2007.  I love this city... Why not lol. From visits with Gran in 1986 ( I need to upload the photos esp with a pidgeon oan my head in trafalgar sq)... I was 12. - to 4 Scout Camps in 88-93 : Great times. Then with Maryann- a 12 hr tour during our honeymoon in 1998, then in 2005 and  2007..  So the big difference with this time is we r going to most of the big sites. inside and oot. lol- and more importantly with Andrew and Euan for a cultural tour.  Thanks to www.londonpass.com   Cost the free feb council tax bill. but worth it... Cheers. Hammy xx

Mountain Lion for Mac

Image
Any1 that knows me Im a tech geek. on all formats but mostly Apple. I always get excited when you get new Apple updates so was interesting to see the lastest update to Lion.. [youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8NcB21Jr4pw] Ive downloaded the imessage for mac and seems to be pretty stable. I can now send messages directly from here to all through all my  ios devices. Overview of Features: iCloud It just works. In more ways than ever.  In OS X Mountain Lion, sign in once with your Apple ID and iCloud is automatically set up across your Mac. 1  That means right away iCloud keeps your mail, calendars, contacts, documents, and more up to date on every device you use. So when you add, delete, or edit something on your Mac, it happens on your iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch. And vice versa. Messages Mac keeps the conversation going.  Messages does everything iChat does, and so much more. For starters, it comes with iMessage. And just like iMessage in iOS, it lets you send unlimited messag...

10.2.2012

Wow. Feb is moving very quickly. Not much happening over next 2 weeks. All work. No play. Working flat outolling 25.2 when I'm off for 9 days. This is when we go to Arran for the weekend, with in in-laws who are celebrating their ruby wedding. On that Sunday I'm cycling around Arran for the Vanessa Riddle appeal. See previous post. I'm currently at over 500 quid. Following weekend we celebrate Euan's 7th birthday with a weekend in Edinburgh with kids seeing the sights. Also the Zoo hopefully.

Failford Gorge Walk to Stair

Image
Took kids a walk down near Failford and headed towards Stair where we would have lunch. At the  The Stair Inn . Today shows me how good a memory Euan has. He said that he had been down here before (well over a year ago) and pointed out the seat where we sat and had lunch. The weather was cold. We all were well wrapped up. Very cold but at the time was dry. Not for long. In total we walked about 4.5 miles. Not bad. The boys celebrated next the the warm fire with sausage chip and beans and a cola lol... A good couple of hours out....
