Cairn Table Jaunt 13.1.12

Well I dropped the kids at school this morning and as it was a cold and beautiful day was going to go out on the bike, but last minute decided to go a short walk up Cairn Table near Murkirk.

Was pretty cold but got some fantastic views at the top.

The round walk is just short of 6 miles. Pretty easy and a good way to start breaking the new boots in.

Last time I went up this weather was poor and little visibility.

Its not an uncommon fact that the weather recently has been very poor, a mixture of rain, hail, snow, gale force winds and everything else being chucked at my part of the world. .. so it was a very pleasant change to wake to nice sunny weather - and I thought Im grabbing my bike and going a run for what seems like the first time in weeks. - on a Day Off. Done the usual route home-Kilmarnock, join the cycle path to Irvine, then down to Ayr via Troon. Then back up the B743 to Mauchline. 44 Miles and a very good cycle.  Planning more on Sat, Hopefully a 60 Miler. - Weather looks ok..
