>A decade in thought...
>Well thats another new year upon us and hope we are all out/doing something nice to celebrate the start of another new decade tonight! In fact I have vivid memories of the last decade, the big 1, Millenium night as if it was yesterday...
Ironic thing is that night only seems like a couple of years ago, when we entered the year 2000 will much hip, the millenium bug etc and which all came to nothing lol.
Much has changed in the last 10 years and I think this is how I will see my memories of the 'noughties'. Probably because I spent my early ish lol 20s and early 30s in this decade, having already been married before the start of this decade, and seen our 2 sons born and us settle down as a family in our new home in Mauchline..
This decade has seen much change in our world. Recently reading if I had been the co-founder of you tube, google, Facebook or Bebo lol, I would be a very rich man. Other things like dab radio, broadband, 3g smart phones, ps 2 and 3, x box, Nintendos ds lites, apple iPods and iPhones, the pace in technology is always something that fascinates me and anybody that knows me I am a geek for technology, currently on an iphone 16gb 3gs...
In all of this how could I forget twitter lol..
These things, we now all take for granted and I wonder what wonderful stuff we will see in the next 10 years..
If I am writing this on new years eve 2019, our Andrew will be 18 and Euan 15. These guys will probably be telling me what to do. I hope our sons grow up safe in an ever-changing world and I think that this will be their decade.
We finished 1999 on a high and I hope that we finish 2009 on 1 as well and I am sure we will. Over the last 10 years, I would like to think we have grown a bit wiser, and some grey hear has appeared without a doubt. But in my case its the loss of hair that has got me haha...
Well, chins up, here is too a new decade, full of hope, promises and we hope that it's as good as the o's have been for me and me family....
Alex, Ma and the boys xx
