6am wake up. Currently lying wide awake. - why ? See photo. Wife's slept in other room and Euan is in bed opposite snoring like a mad man. Honestly - very loud ! We are going to the water park later. - if I wake up and DON'T SLEEP IN.

Thought as Im chilling on the balcony, post a quick blog. Since Barcelona things were quiet for a few days. The customary pool, music, entertaining the kids and chilling. Even won the bingo and a bottle of champers. - which in the end tasted rather rank lol. But what do you expect. Last night we used our prepaid tickets for PortaVentura - 1 of the largest theme parks in Europe. This has the largest roller coaster in Europe. - not for the faint hearted. Great place. Very busy and being honest would take you several days to get round. - we had 6 hours. The big roller coaster is called the Shambhala: Maryann and Andrew went on it. After waiting 1 hr 45 mins to get on it. Lol. Me and Euan did a lot of the other less fearful rides. The place shut at midnight giving us time to see a lot of the park. Writing this blog on the train heading back to Salou. Euan is snoring away with his head against my shoulder probably a testament to what we had done over last 2 days in very warm hot weather. Typical luck for us. 1st train wasn't until 1135am so we had some time to kill. Never been on a Spanishtrain before. A bit mad getting a seat etc, start stop, start stop. - anyway we got to Barcelona at 1pm. As usual was a bit unprepared. No map etc but using my phone we located our Apartment and jumped in a taxi. This took only 15 mins from the station. - We booked an overnight stay as thought it would make sense to do more over 2 days than 2 trips. I booked a place through laterooms.com and got a cracking private let that had kitchen...

As usual as many of my friends comment your family holiday always goes really quickly. Past 4 days have been nice lazy ones, but any 1 that knows me I get itchy feet really easily - lol. Andrew and Euan have made a hardcore group of pals who seem to spend most of the bloody day together. Euan was very clingy first couple days but now getting him to stay put is a challenge lol. Hotel we are staying in is ok. Basic. Entertainment team are very good. There is plenty of kids about, but clearly a hotel for the younger generation, but the hotel team seem to accommodate to both very well. This is my 1st (or our) 1st to mainland Spain. I was here in 1983 near Malaga, obv with little memory as I was 9 lol. This is a VERY busy place. The usual bars, lots children friendly. Usually have the same routine. Quiz ... bingo. Morning people. Start of day 3 ATM we have a bit of rain and it's a bit overcast. My phone says it should be sunny and 33 degrees lol. - prob just a blip. Laying by the pool. Evening All. So after like 3 hrs sleep and a early rise at 4am we were bound to the Airport by car after my Father (cheers Dad) kindly agreed to take us up in return for having free use of my car for 2 weeks... eh what a trade lol? We were at the airport at 6am and quickly checked in. Dumb ass here forgot to print the boarding pass so I wasnt exactly pleased at having to pay the 20 quid privelage to get my boarding pass - robbing bastards.
