Another Twitter Milestone

Image
Another twitter milestone: 40,000 - I've always been interested in numbers if it's through personally accomplishing them. If it's marks on an exam paper, miles on a bike, the years my sons top up as they get older. - Twitters no different. Lol - Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone

Trip to Derry- May 2011

Image
Just enjoyed 3 days in the city of Derry, and our 4th trip to the island of Ireland. Always great hospitality. This started on the plane when I was talking to 2 kind ladies who offered us a lift into the City Centre. I mean where else would you get that…. Bad thing is I cant remember their bloody names ! – lol Short Ryanair flight. 1 comment.. Maryann go to the toilet before you go lol.. We stayed at the Abbey B&B – fantastic hospitality. We stayed in a self catering house on night 1. as it had been overbooked but Shamus our host could not have been more helpful. We got a lift to and from the place and we went down for breakfast on the fri at 11am.. I mean who else would do that? Thurs night we went and explored the city and sampled various different bars for a few beers. had dinner at Flaming Jacks – this place has had very mixed reviews but we had a great seat in the corner by the front window and cant fault the food.. nice experience.. Ended up in some pub/night club...

MAYbe we have had our Summer?

Image
The weather for the last 2 weeks has been bloody horrendous. In April just before the Royal Wedding we had a great run for a couple of weeks then I killed that beetle at my work lmao!- then it may just be all my fault. For the last 3 weeks the sun has disappeared almost altogether. Apart from the odd appearance behind a cloud for 5 mins. This morning I awoke to 70 mile an hr winds and pissing rain. The garden furniture was all over the garden. I've retrieved it at put it back in the garage. Bins blown over as well lol. Not good. So welcome to the Scottish summer :(. - Posted using BlogPress from my iPad

Background: Website The River Ayr Way is Scotland’s first source to sea path network. It covers a distance of 44 miles following the river Ayr from its source at Glenbuck Loch to the sea at Ayr. The route passes through one of the most interesting river valleys in Southern Scotland and unlike many other long distance routes it can be walked over a weekend or a long weekend making it an ideal short break activity for visitors to Ayrshire.. The River Ayr Way is Scotland’s first source to sea path network which begins at Glenbuck and follows the river for 66kms (44miles) to the sea at Ayr passing through some of Ayrshire’s most stunning and varied scenery from open remote moorland to shaded river gorges. The River Ayr Way has inspired Robert Burns and helped William Wallace hide from English troops. It has created a village and powered an industrial ...

This is Scotlands first source to sea river walk and starts 44 miles away from the entrance to the firth of Clyde in Ayr, at a small loch in the small dwelling of Glenbuck in deepest Ayrshire, almost on the border with North Lanarkshire. This is the Website I started at 7am and was doing it over 2 days. Follows the river through Murkirk to Sorn and the Catrine. Day 2 then continues near Mauchline to Failford, Stair, Annbank then to the entrance at Ayr Port to the sea. Day1 was 23 miles and day 2 22 miles approx.
